Auditions for all voice parts are held twice a year, in January and August, after each of the Chorale's two main concerts.  For the 2016-2017 season, new singer auditions will be on Monday, January 16, 2017 after the Chorale rehearsal.  The auditions will held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  Interested persons should contact Elaine Moore, Membership Chairperson, at (412) 780-9336 (Cell) for details and to schedule a time.

Auditions include an informal get acquainted chat and prospective applicants are expected to bring a prepared song to perform while being accompanied by our pianist.

Some of the guidelines and requirements of membership are:

A)  Rehearsals are every Monday evening beginning in September and lasting through May Full Chorale at 7:00 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mt. Lebanon.  The week of a concert is devoted to technical rehearsals usually at Westminster Presbyterian Church from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM.

B)  Dues of $35.00 are paid each season, generally in the fall. Members are required to pay a one-time music deposit of $25.00. This entitles members access to all music to be performed. Ladies obtain their costumes and any accessories from the Chorale for a fee from our Costume chairpersons. Men are to purchase their own tuxedos but obtain any accessories (bow tie, cummerbund and pocket scarf) for a fee from our Costume chairpersons.

C)  Your audition and acceptance into the South Hills Chorale (a) reflect a sincere desire on your part to participate in the creation of choral music; and (b) imply a commitment on your part to sing in the 2 major concerts (Winter and Spring) as well as any Community concerts in a particular season.
